Did a minor amount of research before settling on this product, It had the highest rated contrast that I saw in the sub $1000 range. I have used it in daylight with indirect light and It was usable. In a darkened room it is very nice. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

I wanted a HUGE screen for my home theater but worried that 720p scaled up much past 60″ would be soft or fuzzy. My fears were unfounded. This projector produces a beautiful crisp image that totally surpassed my expectations.

i think it does the job. have not really checked out the coolness factor. too lazy. but it has a cool blue light that looks cool though. buy it already especially if you like gadgets with cool blue lights.
Customer Review: Just what I was looking for
This is exactly what the doctor ordered. I’ve got the (very, very hot) Onkyo 876 AV Receiver mounted in a glass-front AV cabinet (semi-open back) along with a new Onkyo DVD player, bluray player, 10+ year old Onkyo CD changer and an Onkyo tape deck. Obviously, I like Onkyo, but they do deserve their reputation for running hot. It was blazing in that cabinet. The receiver in particular was too hot to touch for more than one second. I set this fan on top of the receiver and plugged it into the receiver’s on-board rear AC outlet, and it within minutes, it had massively cooled the cabinet (at the nearly silent low fan setting too).

Customer Review: an improvement over a more expensive cable
I’ve only had it for a couple of days but the quality of viewing has improved over the Monster cable I had before. With the Monster, I used to get sound dropouts and very rough channel changes (with sound loss) when I went from regular to HD channels. None of that is happening with this new cable.

I ordered the Sony Bravia 5-Disc DVD/CD Player after my old DVD Player bit the dust. Here’s some of the selling points that convinced me to select it, and what I think now.

Yamaha does it again! Does every thing I want it to do, from cds,dvds,tuner, and tv. Sound source amplification is easy to control from the remote. Outstanding basic home theater receiver. I highly recommend it.

I bought this unit to replace an old Sony receiver I’ve owned for over 10 years. I wanted the HDMI capability and am so happy that I made the move. The Yamaha was not the easiest to hookup but I’m no tech-head and find it difficult to figure out proper connection. I would recommend reading the manual to minimize frustration. I have DirectTV so connecting that source to the unit was completely easy. Just sat box to HDMI in and from Yamaha HDMI out to TV. You must go through the instructions in the manual as to how to set up the speakers. I have 5 speakers and a sub so in order for all of them to work you must go through this procedure. Another critical aspect that I didn’t discover until a few days after setting up the system was that you must go into the satellite box setup menu and enable the digital audio (that was turned off when DirectTV setup my initial installation). When I discovered this little item, wow, everything just sounded terrific. I find that having HDMI for the audio not a problem and would certainly not dismiss this unit because of that option. After getting everything hooked up properly and bearing a few days of scratching my head and wondering if I had done the right thing buying a new unit, I just could not be happier. The price is incredible and what a sweet system. I have not encountered any audio to video sync problems that others have discussed in other reviews. Everything is working just fine. I have found that in setting up the DirectTV remote for controlling the Yamaha that it is not possible to turn the unit on and off but you can control the volume with the DirectTV unit. That is not the best but not a deal breaker.

I bought this one to replace for my prior-purchased Sony’s theater receiver which had an intermitten problem. So far, this Yamaha receiver works very well and meets all of my expectations such as sound quality, easy setup… This unit is substantially cheap comparing to the other receivers with the same functions in the current market. I highly recommend this device to verybody.

Customer Review: Love the Audio, Like the Video
First of all, I love Amazon customer support, Initially i ordered for 906 receiver, it looks too heavy for me and my room. Immidiatly exchanged with 806 receiver. It is awsome, it may not be delivering the picture as 906, but with the 1080 upgrade i can feel the difference. As like some other complained abt blue screen when switching the components, i dont feel that.
