Customer Review: Onkyo TX-SR876 Theater Receiver “The Hot Box”
It’s a Great Unit with a lit learning remote. The power and sound it unleashes, I am hearing stuff on CD’s and DVD’s I haven’t heard before. Sure it gets hot, gotta let it breath. I ordered a small super quiet 4″ square 110v fan and placed it right on top & plugged it in the ac outlet on the back and every time I turn on the receiver, the fan kicks on as well. And it is not enclosed in some airtight case, it’s out in the open.
With the HDMI Pass through feature makes it all the better. I got this receiver at such a super deal I’m just blown away at the retail price now. I made a great choice and a super deal even though hearing some horror stories about it. At todays price I could sell mine and make 100% profit!
Onkyo produced this unit right next to their top of the line receiver. They didn’t leave much out on this receiver, almost has it all.
Goes well with Samsung 50″, Infinity Alpha 50’s, Infinity 37c Center Channel, Pair of Infinity 25es Back/Side, a Pair of 701 Bose make up for the sound in the rear. And with an earth shaking Sub, SVS PB12-Plus makes your guts hurt! Now that’s power.

Customer Review: Don’t order cord from Eforcity!
Ordered this product through Amazon from Eforcity. They sent a 25 ft cord instead of the described 30 ft cord. 25 ft is not long enough for my application. I emailed Eforcity about two weeks ago using the link provided by Amazon and have received no response.

First impressions! GIGANTIC speakers, did not expect them to be that big! Nice and glossy but somebody who cares for their walls to look nice, you can back off right here…. Because the quality of these speakers isnt really breath taking that you would want to give up the look of your home.

Customer Review: Best entry level A/V receiver for the price, period.
To make this review short - this is exactly the same receiver as the last year’s Yamaha RX-V363BL. With some added convenience features and slightly changed front panel design.
Yamaha also make it under the name Yamaha HTR-6230BL (that is the replacement for last year’s Yamaha HTR-6130BL).
These are excellent A/V receivers and great value for the price.
Customer Review: No HDMI Audio
I was looking for a lower end receiver that could use HDMI audio and according to the user manual for the RX-V365 it can’t play HDMI audio through the speakers. You would have to connect separate optical cables to the source components.

Customer Review: Meets my needs
In the 30+ years I’ve lived in my house, I’ve never experienced a power-related failure in any electronic equipment, so I debated about ordering this surge protector. However, concerned that my luck might be running out, I purchased this unit based on Tripp Lite’s reputation, good customer reviews, and reasonable price. It seems to be well made and has enough outlets to meet my needs. I agree with those who are critical of the labeling, which can be hard to read, and the color of the ground LED, which is red and not green. The only other comment I would make is that there are only two isolated filter banks and not five as I assumed. This probably isn’t a big deal, but just make sure that you use the two isolated banks for your most valuable equipment. In my case, I used them for my plasma TV and surround sound receiver.

I’m writing this to help you make a decision. I know it’s a nightmare to try and find the best bang for the bucks, but why not search for the best receiver for you.

What I liked:
Robust body and great looks.
Good HDMI switching.
3 HDMI inputs.
2 optical 2 coaxial
1 optical output !!! I like to be able to send to a digital recorder.
Has a small learning curve.
I had no trouble setting it up. I spent 3 days wiring the speakers before so when I got it I hooked it up and configured it in about 3 hours.
Audyssey Mic included… great for adapting the sound to your room acoustics.
