Set up cost some time, but you get unique features for the money. Tivo and Replay users will appreciate the ability to connect to the internet for streaming audio. There is a Philips website with free content and subscriptions to various content sources.

Also it has the ability to play music and videos from your PC.
This is the device to have if you are an iPOD user. Or if you make home MPEG videos

I used an ethernet cable to connect to my home network. And performance is nice. The sound quality is good, as one can expect with the more expensive Philips audio equipment.

Customer Review: Pure Fraud!!!
Owners of these have been FUMING on the Philips support forums for more than a year. They simply don’t work. They crash (!) playing many DVD’s, they freeze randomly, etc.

Philips has admitted these problems exist (and did so in mid 2005) but has ignored all requests for a fix, while continuing to sell them.

The device is absolutely unuseable as a consumer product.
